SquashWise

Mission: SquashWise is a long-term support system creating opportunities for aspiring Baltimore youth. By using squash as a motivator, SquashWise helps students realize their academic, athletic and personal potential. They ensure that each student graduates from high school prepared for their next step – ready to excel in college and continuing education, as well as in the workplace. SquashWise uses a goal-oriented approach to match students to post-high school education and career placements that fit their readiness and interests. Students join the SquashWise family in middle school, and the program continues supporting them as they achieve their educational, athletic, and career goals.

Impact: SquashWise students consistently outpace their peers in Baltimore City in terms of grades, SAT scores, high school graduation, and college matriculation. They travel all over the country to compete in tournaments through U.S. Squash and the Squash and Education Alliance.

History: SquashWise was founded in 2007 by a group of local squash enthusiasts dedicated to making positive change in Baltimore. Maryland Squash was an early and supportive partner, providing seed funding and operational support to launch the organization. In 2018, SquashWise marked its 10th anniversary, bringing members of Baltimore's squash and philanthropic community together to celebrate its decade of impact.

SquashWise is a proud member of the Squash and Education Alliance, which strengthens and supports new and existing squash and education programs across the USA and abroad, and provides students with opportunities to compete in squash and prepare for college and careers.
