Recently, two of Maryland's squash clubs hosted lady squash players as part of a National Squash Week effort to promote additional female play.  Thank you to our local lady-leaders, Susan Lawrence and Abby Markoe, for promoting and expanding play!   On successive nights, the Merritt Club (Canton) and the Maryland Club hosted numerous lady players for on-court play and fun.  

Merritt Club Canton graciously hosted its first Women's Squash event on Sept 19th - with 7 players, 4 of whom were new to the sport!   Though skill levels varied, everyone had a great time playing Singles, and coaching each other [since that evening, as several of the 'beginner' players enjoyed their time on court so much, they returned to the Merritt courts several times].  The Maryland Club hosted a Women’s Squash Week event the next evening - Sept. 20th, at which players enjoyed both Singles squash and Doubles play.  Off-court socializing added to the fun!  There were 9 enthusiastic players attending this event, several of whom hopped on the Doubles court for the first time ever. 

Merritt Canton hosts regular squash play for all levels on Monday and Wednesday night; Maryland Club also hosts regular play-events for members as well.  Look for additional scheduling or contact respective clubs for more details on play and membership options.
