We are pleased to share the tournament draws and also the schedule for this weekend for the 97th Maryland State Single Squash Championships. We are thankful to each of the clubs locally that have made their courts available for our amateur players and also for Coppermine-BareHills and Calvert School for offering 4 weeks of Adult and Junior FREE clinics for our Tournament players. This community commitment is a huge plus and differentiates our Maryland Squash playing community from other racket sport efforts! 

 

Our tournament play has been scheduled for matches Friday and all day Saturday at Coppermine Bare Hills (though we suspect we'll have some folks try to schedule early-round matches earlier to help with body recovery - particularly the 50+ grouping :)   The bulk of activity will start at Coppermine starting at 830AM Saturday. 

 

We will have Tournament Favors for all of our players and also for our generous Maryland Squash Sponsors who have shared their financial resources to make this event possible.

 

We will also have lunch available for our players and families on Saturday by the courts at Coppermine Bare Hills and we will also have Dinner and adult + junior beverages available at no cost to you.  Please recognize the players take priority for nourishment! Finals matches will begin at ~4:30 PM. 

 

We are excited for EIGHT different draws for our junior players - the most we've ever had for a MD Squash Tournament and we look forward to crowning our 2025 Junior Boys and Junior Girls Under-19 State champion. We have a special gift for each of those champions.   To add, we will also have a special gift for our Top Women and Male Adult players.

You will also note at Coppermine, we will be having a fun exhibition/gathering of players playing Squash57 - an internationally-recognized sport using a racquetball racket and a racquetball on a squash court. The game is super fun, and the required movement on the court from the 'extra' racquetball' bounce is great for new players - extremely beneficial for footwork, leg and body preparation for Squash.  We hope that more of our community would be open to trying Squash57 in the future. 

 

We look forward to seeing you and having you support our junior and adult players Saturday morning and afternoon and joining us for food and beverages after 4:00 o'clock (at the time of our volunteer Annual Meeting, for our 501c3 organization).
