The 2024 Maryland State Middle-School Team Championships (singles) were held at Calvert School this week.  Thank you to Patrick Bedore and the Calvert School staff for hosting an outstanding gathering of over 120 separate players representing scores of teams (23 teams of 5 players each) from numerous Maryland middle schools.  The turnout from parents was amazing, and the play was fantastic for many up-and-coming players.  Maryland Squash was proud to be a sponsor for the tournament and wishes all players and coaches much success for on-court advancement and enjoyment!  

In Division 1, Calvert captured the title with a 4-1 win over Gilman. 8th Graders Howdy Colhoun, Daniel Sun, and Tommy Zink all won their matches 2-0 in the top 3 positions for Calvert.

In Division 2, St. Paul’s cruised to victory, led by Carter Holland at the #1 spot.

In Division 3, Loyola took the title.

All participants received a fresh Maryland Squash hat and enjoyed food and drink provided by Calvert.
